Geographic Information Systems (GIS) |
GIS stands for Geographic Information Systems. This comprehensive term describes the management of any geographic data, including: political boundaries, land use, vegetative patterns, populations, forest types, soil types, utility routing and maintenance (amfm), air traffic control, natural resources, mining, development tracking, permitting, agriculture, wildlife management, etc.… The list is exhaustive. GIS has even been used in film making, cemetery management, and underwater cave diving.
Our firm uses Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information System (GIS) for mapping, reference, analysis, and permit tracking and has an extensive library of soils and vegetation data, and aerial photography beyond commercially available products. We are a full service CAD/GIS company. Our services range from basic data input and map creation to high-end application programming. Our software is standardized around market leaders in the CAD/GIS industry. These include AutoCAD® for our CAD development, the E.S.R.I® family of products for our GIS development, ERDAS® Imagine® for aerial photograph and satellite image classification and rectification, and Trimble Navigation® for our Global Positioning System (GPS) work. Our primary focus areas are natural and resource characterization and agricultural management. We also have extensive experience working in areas of land use planning, public utilities, local governments and cemetery management systems. We believe that all project work will be done in a digital environment. It provides greater speed of delivery, flexibility and accuracy. The client always has the option to request project data in digital or paper formats.

Image Processing and Remote Sensing |
Image Processing and Remote Sensing are both comprehensive terms which cover a variety of applications. Image Processing is fairly self-explanatory; raw digital images are processed through various software platforms for a variety of uses. Our image processing starts with raw satellite imagery from various sources and is processed with ERDAS® Imagine®. Remote Sensing is the science of "sensing" or identifying land patterns from a "remote" source, such as aerial photography.
