Brazil Information Management Services Breedlove, Dennis & Associates' Information Management Services provided Global Positioning Support for a client working in Brazil, South America. The client needed to obtain positional data for the project site. Traditional surveying would have been both expensive and time consuming. Before transporting the units to Brazil, BDA provided a brief training period to the client. By using the remote Global Positioning System on-site in Brazil, the client was able to collect location data adding comments and descriptions. A Trimble Pathfinder Professional was used as a rover unit to obtain field data while a second unit was used as a base station to provide information for data correction. While on-site, the client encountered a logistical challenge with the satellite base station. The quandary was handled with just a long distance telephone call. The client succeeded in obtaining the information needed for on-site feature locations. BDA's field capabilities supported by remote sensing skills and equipment, image processing capabilities, and incorporating scientific and engineering skills allow BDA to provide resource analysis and management support internationally.
